Welcome back to The Eagle Post! This December, Andrew McClure interviewed our Senior of the Month, Gabriel Bevan.
If you'd prefer to listen rather than read, you can play the audio track above, or you can read a summarized version of the interview below.
To begin, Gabe Bevan wants everyone to know that he is a Christian trying to put God first in his life, and he wants to tell others about that. He’s also a very friendly guy; “[I] like to talk to people, like to be around people.” He’s “a true Eagle,” having been attending since preschool. His favorite memories are the ones made with friends: “I’ve been with these guys for a couple years… You get to know people pretty well.” He enjoys having a close, tight group of friends here. His favorite class is Consumer Math with Mr. Colegrove; “We got some good laughs in that class.”
Gabe’s biggest academic accomplishment is finishing the 15 page research paper in American Literature his Junior year. His biggest athletic accomplishment is “the lob dunk I just had on Saturday from Kelly.” In his free time, he enjoys working out, hunting, and fishing. When asked specifically if he was bulking or cutting, he said, “Hard bulking, I’ve been bulking for 18 years.”
When asked if he was ready to graduate, Gabe replied, “Absolutely.” He plans on going straight into the work force, working at Lighthouse like he is currently. He does some cleaning, tearing down, setting up, and other event preparations. His favorite book of the Bible is James, because it’s very simple and direct. “It just lays it out there for you.. and I really like that.” He says there are a lot of key verses that speak to him, “guidelines on how to live your life.”
When asked about his supposed “obsession” with buffets, he said, “me and the boys like the Grand Buffet… I don’t really like Chinese food that much but I like that.” He also loves Golden Corral. He gave some tips on strategy when eating at a buffet; “you cannot drink any liquids because liquids fill you up… no liquids, just pack on the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese.” When asked what makes a buffet worth his time, he said, “you have to eat more than what you paid for. You gotta beat the buffet.”
Gabe says he is not a coffee drinker, and his favorite beverage is Ski soda. He doesn’t currently have any plans for the summer, but he would like to go on a trip. If he could go anywhere on Earth, he would go to Hawaii; “I think Hawaii would be awesome.. and I heard snakes are not native to the island, so that’s a big plus.” His favorite restaurant is Chipotle and he likes Taco Bell’s fast food.
Gabe got to choose the next Senior to be interviewed, and he chose Andrew McClure. Be sure to check out that interview in January!
